F_EVER

A system of relationships between sensations, emotions, and thoughts, expressed in movement and formulated in strong contrasts, unfolds, where bodies fall and crash into each other at the impossible boundaries, with engineering precision, then take flight again and rest in dreams of hope. It seems like a vision of a feverish night, where the goodness of the world and the millions of little princes of faith in man struggle against an inexpressible invisible force and then take wing again, clinging to the fantastic perspective of existence, and together with the audience, experience a magical, feverish night, from which we might awaken and fall asleep again.

...the performance is dazzlingly good; it has managed to come across as more substantial, more powerful, and better than its predecessors. And this is a rarity; unfortunately, it’s generally the case that the “old guard” of the profession has become complacent in every respect. In contrast, Pál Frenák still knows how to raise the bar in his own unique way; the humility, dedication, and physical and mental performance of his dancers are astonishing.

I can imagine what it must be like to see a Frenák choreography for the first time as a teenager or twenty-something. I think (and I’ve heard such feedback) that it’s a jaw-dropping experience… Because although it’s expressed in abstract terms and appeals to the senses, it’s about our world today. We live in such an intense state—in emotions, eroticism, sex, brilliance, desires, ambition, career, and consumption—in such a frenzied fever, such a whirlwind.
